Peilin Chen

Peilin joins Diamond and Associates after recently completing her Masters Degree in City Planning with a concentration in Community and Economic Development at the University of Pennsylvania. A native of Lafayette, California, Peilin attended Bryn Mawr College where she obtained a B.A. in Growth and Structure of Cities with a minor in Spanish. While attending BMC she was a recipient of the Sheila Gamble Cook Grant, and wrote her thesis on the historical shift of department stores from urban to suburban locations. She continues to return to BMC as a guest speaker in the Urban Studies department.

While at the University of Pennsylvania, Peilin is most proud of her work to help create a ten year strategic plan for a non-for-profit in the Strawberry Mansions area of Philadelphia. She also served as an intern at Diamond & Associates where her work included assembling New Markets Tax Credit Applications, Home Ownership Choice Program applications for the Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency and the Machinery and Equipment Loan application for the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development.

Peilin is proficient in both Mandarin and Spanish and is a member of the American Planning Association. In her spare time she enjoys visiting museums, as she is an avid art historian, watching films, and going on picnics with friends. Having spent the past five years studying, working and living in the Philadelphia area, she is excited to be employed by a company whose foundation is the growth and development of the city she calls home.
